Forbes identified the best U.S. credit unions based on an independent survey of approximately 26,000 U.S. consumers who were asked to rate credit unions at which they have or previously had checking accounts. Desert Financial was among the top 3.4% of all U.S. credit unions to make the cut.

Survey participants made recommendations regarding overall satisfaction. They also assessed banks in the following areas:
